ANSWERS ON NAXFER INSTALLATION

  1. I've installed Naxfer but can't receive. What can I do ?
    Start the receiver interface. If a settings window shows, you must configure Naxfer. A configuration is required on first usage. Follow the instructions and use "company name" and "password" received from your registration on the website. If Naxfer is already configured, read the wuestion 2 below.


  2. Naxfer can't connect to internet. What can I do ?
    First, check that your internet connexion is working. Check that you're not using a proxy. If the proxy requires a username and password, configure them in Naxfer's configuration interface reachable from the "Start" menu. In all cases, contact your administrator to get help.


  3. Naxfer does not launch. What happened ?
    Check that Java is installed and working on your computer. For Windows: Java .
    For Ubuntu, use "Add/Suppress", install OpenJDK Java6 WebStart + OpenJDK Java6 Runtime.


  4. I'm using Ubuntu, I've received on my email a link to receive files with Naxfer. I clicked the link, nothing happens. What can I do ?
    On Ubuntu, you have ton install, by using "Add/Suppress", OpenJDK Java6 WebStart + OpenJDK Java6 Runtime + by using the "Synaptic package manager", sun-java6-plugin (+ dependencies).

ANSWERS ON NAXFER'S USAGE

  1. I have not installed Naxfer on my computer. A client wants to send me a file with Naxfer, how can I receive it ?
    The sender can send you through Naxfer's directory an email containing a link which will launch Naxfer's lite receiver. You can also install a trial version of Naxfer. This trial contains a free, unlimited, receiver interface.


  2. I'm using Naxfer trial version, I can't send anymore after three sendings, what happened ?
    Naxfer trial version is limited to three sendings maximum. To continue to use Naxfer, you must choose between the Pay As You Go and the lifetime license and buy it.


  3. I'm trying to make a sending, Naxfer displays "Reconnexion in 1 minute". What happened ?
    The connexion between your computer and the recipient's has been lost, Naxfer is trying to reestablish the connexion. If the warning reappears, check your connexion then check that your recipient has installed Naxfer and finally that his computer is started and connected.


  4. When I list my favorite recipients, one is marked with a red cross, can I send him something anyway ?
    The red cross signals in real time that your recipient is not connected. Thus, he can't receive, you can leave Naxfer retrying. It will try until it succeeds when the recipient reconnects. When this happens, a green "OK" shows instead of the cross.


  5. I've just received a file, I clicked on « Exit » from the notification window. Where can I find back my file ?
    All your projects are stored in Naxfer receiver. They are automatically archived unless you delete them manually.


  6. My Naxfer is stalled, what can I do ?
    If your permissions allow it, terminate the process named "javaw.exe". If the problems is not solved, save your data and restart the computer.


  7. I've received a file but it's not showing in "Naxfer receiver".
    Your Naxfer receiver was probably opened during reception, wait a few seconds for the window to refresh. If the list does not update automatically, close and reopen the interface.
  8. My printer or scanner do not appear in the devices list from the "Send paper documents" menu. What happened ?
    Naxfer detects only the TWAIN protocol compatible devices. If your device does not show, it might be handled by a specific driver that makes it incompatible with Naxfer.


  9. On Mac or Linux how can I use my USB security key (token, smartcrd etc...) with Naxfer?
    On Mac and Linux, Naxfer supports natively Gemalto and Aladdin (eToken) keys. If you want to use other keys, you only need to install the key's driver and ask your constructor for the matching PKCS11 library. The library file must have the .dylib extension on MAC and .so on Linux. The file must be copied to "/Applications/Naxfer/conf/pkcs11/mac" on MAC and in "<Naxfer install dir>/conf/pkcs11/linux" on Linux.
